Who we are
JumpOut is an iPhone alarm app: when your alarm rings, you pick up your phone, open JumpOut, and jump until you hit the goal you set. These pages explain how we handle information when you use the JumpOut app, create an account, or visit jumpout.net.
JumpOut is operated at jumpout.net. Questions: [email protected].
Information we collect
Account. If you register with email, we store your email address, username, and a hashed password (we never store the password itself). If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we store the identifier those services give us, plus any email or name you choose to share with JumpOut.
Profile photo. Optional. If you add one, a compressed JPEG is stored with your account so it can appear on your profile and on a progress share card.
Preferences. We may store settings you choose on your account, such as which weekdays you treat as active mornings.
Device data that stays on your iPhone. Alarms (time, label, sound, jump goal, repeat days), jump progress and streaks, appearance, and whether you have finished the tutorial are saved on the device. Face ID / Touch ID, if you turn it on, unlocks a password stored in the iPhone Keychain — it is not sent to our servers.
Motion. JumpOut uses the accelerometer and gyroscope so it can tell a real jump from a shake, and so the home-screen water effect can tilt. Those sensor readings are processed on your iPhone in real time. We do not upload raw motion samples, and we do not use HealthKit.
Email we send you. We send short-lived codes to verify an email or reset a password, plus a welcome note when you join and a confirmation if you delete your account. Codes are stored as hashes and expire in about 10 minutes.
Purchases. Yearly and monthly subscriptions, the 7-day free trial, and Lifetime are processed by Apple. We do not see your full card number. Apple tells JumpOut whether your trial, subscription, or Lifetime unlock is active so alarms can keep ringing.
We do not run advertising SDKs or third-party analytics in the current app.
How we use information
We use this information to create and sign you into your account, send verification and reset codes, show your username and photo, remember preferences, operate alarms and the jump challenge on your device, and respond if you email support.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to advertise other companies’ products.
Who we share it with
We share information only with services that help us run JumpOut:
• Hosting and database (today: Render) for accounts
• DNS and content delivery (Cloudflare) for jumpout.net and the API
• Email delivery (Resend) for verification, password reset, welcome, and deletion messages
• Apple and Google, when you choose those sign-in buttons — their own privacy policies apply to that sign-in
• Apple, when you start a trial or buy JumpOut Pro (yearly, monthly, or Lifetime) — Apple’s privacy policy applies to that payment
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect JumpOut, our users, or others from fraud or abuse.
If you share a progress image with Photos, Messages, or another app, that share is under that app’s rules — we only create the image on your device.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. If you delete your account in Settings, we mark it deleted, clear email, password, sign-in identifiers, and photo, and replace the username so it cannot be reused as yours. Transactional email logs at our email provider may linger for a short time under that provider’s retention.
Alarms and jump history on the iPhone go away if you delete the app or offload it, unless iOS backups still contain them.
Verification and reset codes expire automatically.
Your choices
You can edit your username display in the app, change or remove your profile photo, switch accounts, restore purchases, manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings, and delete your account in Settings.
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, and some US states), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. Email [email protected] and we will help. You can also delete the app at any time.
Children
JumpOut is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
Security and international transfers
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access tokens. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Our hosting and email providers may process data in the United States or other countries. If you use JumpOut from the EEA or UK, that means your information may be transferred outside your country, with the safeguards those providers offer.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date above and post the new version in the app and at https://api.jumpout.net/privacy. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
